6/20/19 - Fishing, hiking & Irish music

Day 4. I didn’t quite get everything done before the trip started so I opted to take today as a catch-up day while the rest of the family went out.  WiFi in our bungalow is not great so I have to camp out in the resort lobby next to a giant stuff grizzly bear to get a decent signal.  The town of Banff loves their grizzly bears – every other shop, lobby and restaurant has a 6 foot bear to pose with.

Leanne took the kids fishing in the Bow River.  A couple hours later, the number of fish caught = 0.  Someone told us a couple days later that there are no fish in the river but apparently the guy who rented them the fishing poles forgot to mention that.

Corey and Justin opt for a hike up Sulphur Mountain which is even more strenuous than the Tunnel Mountain hike so I take a pass J.  Leanne and the kids enjoy a move in town.  The weather is still not great so an indoor activity in this land of natural beauty can be justified (somewhat :-)

For dinner, we head into town and John leads the lobbying charge go Irish at St. James Olde Irish Pub. The vote is somewhat split but I vote Irish because they had live Irish music which (being 3/8 Irish) I love.  The kids are not wowed by the food but they have hamburgers and live music and that works.
