We only have 3 days in Budapest so we cram a lot into this monster day where we break a record with 24K steps.

Hanging out with our local tour guide for 5 hours provides some unexpected insights into Hungry’s culture, post-communist life and struggles, government, the history of the Jewish people in Hungry and World War II.

After traversing across half of the word, we rally to explore parts of Budapest (what used to be Buda when they were 2 different cities) and learn that democracy may not be all that it is promised to be for the people of Hungary.

Our travels take us from Auckland to Budapest in our longest travel segment yet with a 17 hour flight, 4 hour layover and 6 hour flight. Things don’t start out too well as we learn the airline vaporized our seats.
