Trip Perspective (Jun-2019):
Traveling around the world with the kids has been a dream of Leanne’s for a long time. With Kyle finishing a 20 year chapter in his career, he has come to see the wisdom of Leanne’s vision.
In the next twelve months, we aspire to travel to over 40 countries on all seven continents. We will explore and experience the differences that only travel can evoke in someone.
We know it will not be easy as the prospect of leaving the familiarity and the comfort of home can be intimidating. No fast food, no cellular service and people who don't speak our naive tongue. A novel concept. One that cane be downright scary but at the same time, exactly why this trip is so important to us.
With the growing rise of distrust between global cultures (especially as portrayed in the media), we are setting out to experience other cultures first hand so we can form our own opinions.
Original Goals for the Trip:
Develop a truly global perspective on the world
Receive a global education on the culture, history, geography and religion that make us who we are
Learn about the history that shaped our current world
Experience the cultural differences that make us all unique
Perform volunteering and service projects that help make the world a better place
Explore the other faiths and religions of the world in order to develop a deeper understanding of our own faith connection
Participate in the celebration of adventurous foods around the world
Inspire a life long desire to continue their global education through travel abroad
To come away with a true appreciation of the differences that make us unique
